Knight Center launches online course in Spanish about creating digital media products
February 22, 2010 - April 04, 2010
(Knight Centre) Journalists need more than a basic understanding of new technology to work in the digital media environment. To teach Latin American and Caribbean reporters and editors to go beyond the basics of digital journalism, the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas is offering the online course in Spanish, “Digital Media Project Development,” which will take place Feb. 22–April 4, 2010. Applications are available online until Feb. 7.
The six-week course, which is free of charge, will be taught by Hiram Enriquez of Univision Interactive Media, who worked previously for Spanish-language sites of Yahoo and CNN. It will cover basic aspects of creating digital media projects, such as content strategy, Search Engine Optimization, and issues relating to site metrics and paid content.
