Workshop
European Journalism Institute 2009
July 11, 2009 - July 18, 2009
This summer, the 6th annual European Journalism Institute (EJI), organized by The Fund for American Studies, will take place in Prague, Czech Republic.
Started in 2004, EJI was developed in response to the growing recognition that journalists should cultivate the knowledge and skills needed to objectively and ethically report news stories. EJI also recognizes that responsible journalism, regardless of the differences in culture and customs from country to country, relies on a similar set of principles and practices and sets out to teach these principles and practices to its participants.
From July 11th to July 18th this summer, practicing journalists and journalism students will gather to participate in an intensive seven day program of seminars, lectures, and discussions about journalism. Instructors are drawn from both the United States and Europe and include a combination of theorists and practitioners. Lecturers include economic and public policy experts, journalists who cover business and finance, and government and corporate leaders.
