Antidiscrimination Campaign - Campagne antidiscrimination - Assises du journalisme - Strasbourg - Palais de l'Europe

October 07, 2009 - October 09, 2009

As a vanguard institution in promoting and protecting freedom of expression, the Council of Europe is to host the 3rd International Conference on Journalism and Information at the Palais de l’Europe in Strasbourg from 7 to 9 October 2009 as part of its campaign “Speak out against discrimination”.

"Fighting discrimination and promoting intercultural dialogue is a collective responsibility but it is also down to individuals." That is the message conveyed by the Council of Europe throughout this Campaign (2008-2010).

The 3rd International Conference on Journalism and Information constitutes a unique platform and also marks an important milestone for the Council of Europe. The Council, convinced of the public information and opinion forming role of the media, since the beginning of the campaign has invited all players in the media industry to discuss and propose solutions giving pride of place to diversity and a culture of tolerance.
